☞ INTRODUCING: M&G Diner's Facade Makeover

The scaffolding has been up on the old M&G Diner since January and now it appears that the facade is currently getting refinished.  Walking by the building at 383 West 125th Street this past week, one could hear the crew using the power hose to blast the distinct yellow paint from the brick building. Some of the newly exposed red brick can be seen on the majority of the left half of the building in the lower photo (click to enlarge). Apparently the retail space is still available and the fate of the diner's iconic signs is still uncertain. That old yellow paint job really added a lot of character to the building but one would assume that a new tenant might be more attracted to a less ostentatious, restored brick facade.

  1. Does Tracy Jordan take Liz Lemon there on the first episode of 30 Rock?

  3. I know its probably not good for the brick or whatever but I love that yellow paint! Obviously the actual M&G signage is CLASSIC. Has it been removed already?
