☞ INTRODUCING: Penthouse at 2066 5th Avenue
There was a stop work order on the 2066 Fifth Avenue from last May but that issue now seems to have been resolved since a new penthouse apartment has most recently appeared on the top floor of the former SRO (lower photo). Based on DOB records, their will be 10 units altogether in the roughly 5-story building and a recreation room in the basement. As far as the building converting to condo or otherwise, the facts are still unclear but it seems like a lot fussy additional details for just a basic rental. This handsome row of townhouse buildings just north of 127th have been mostly well maintained and it's good to see one of the last shells get fixed up.

That stretch of 5th Ave is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI have been observing this building renovation for the past year and a half
ReplyDeletesince it happens to be 3 doors north of my home. They are pumping a lot
of money into this renovation and a elevator which that building never had.
I'm guessing the developer has plans for high-end rentals or a possible
condo conversion.
The developer also owns the two empty lots on 5 and 7 West 127th. Street.
All of the work for the 5th. Avenue renovation is coming in and out
of 5 and 7 West 127th's lot because construction truck can park in there.
I received a letter a few months ago from that developer stating that
there company plans to build a 6 story, 12 unit condo on 5 and 7
West 127th. Street after they are completed with there other project.
High Five!
