☞ INTRODUCING: Inside the New Ambassades
A reader was able to get a photo of the work in progress at the new Ambassades Buffet when walking by this week and things look to be coming along. The second branch of Les Ambassades which is just north of 127th at 341 Lenox seams to be a little more intimate in nature than the big volume buffets that are popular locally. It does not appear to be very large but there's a bit more character here than the average takeout place.

Just can't help feeling it's a little strange having this so close to Jacob, which does an awesome buffet. Why didn't they opt for a little coffee shop or something instead?
ReplyDeleteI guess the food will be prepared at their FDB location and served on the buffet, allowing for better use of the small space without a full kitchen.
ReplyDeleteTo compete with Jacobs, Ambassades have to do more than sell food by the pound, they have to provide a dining experience, so something more up market which Jacobs does not provide. Hope to see something creative here.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like it may be oriented for takeout. If so, it's aiming for a very different market than Jacob's.
