☞ INTRODUCING: The Original Bad Horse

The pizza eatery on FDB/8th Avenue called Bad Horse opened up to a packed crowd last night and we still were not familiar with the musical that the resturant's name slightly alludes to.  After seeing that our original photo on the April 1st Bad Horse opening date got over 11,600 hits at Gawker's io9 science fansite, we decided to find out what the original cult sensation was all about. Back in 2008, the producer of Buffy the Vampire Slayer came up with the online sing-along-blog called Dr. Horrible which featured Neil Patrick Harris as the antihero trying to join the Evil League of Evil.  One of the villains in charge of the said organization is "the thoroughbred of sin" who likes to send messages to Dr. Horrible criticizing his failures at being a super-criminal.

What the sci-fi cult enthusiasts at io9 might not know is that things could get a little stranger down on FDB if Dr. Horrible actually does show up. We are not sure if Neil Patrick Harris still has his New York apartment (since he and his partner had twins) but our past post deducts that the actor has had a place somewhere in South Harlem vicinity: LINK.

  1. Excellent pizza, had to wait a while as the pies are freshly cooked but well worth the wait.

  2. I went on Saturday, and the pizza (the "Rio Grande" with shredded chicken and cilantro) was no joke -- really good stuff. From the looks of it I'll be going back to try them all...

Whether or not we start to see NPH hanging out at the place, the geeky connections are (for me, at least) a big plus. For those who haven't watched Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, I do recommend checking it out sometime -- it's one of my all-time favorites.
