☞ SHOP: B. Oyama Moves Further South

Bernard Oyama's bespoke men's shop originally set up at ACP/7th Avenue and 137th Street has just move a little further south.  The new location at 2312 Adam Clayton Powell is on the corner of 136th Street and is pretty much in the same area but the big difference is the storefront.  Even though the custom tailored suits sold alongside bright accessories were a standout at the traditional menswear shop, the original store itself had a few issues.  At the exterior, a standard aluminum facade was not really conveying a message of luxury and the interior had drop ceilings that have not been fashionable for a couple of decades now.

This new corner space looks to be a better fit since the interior has higher, smooth ceilings and the handsome stone base of the building outside reflects the tradition on the inside. There's just an awning that has to be put in place to cover up the wiring out front but it's looking good at this point. bOyamaNY.com
