☞ EAT: Father's Day on Lenox Avenue

Father's Day 2011 is the first holiday that upper Lenox celebrated with a variety of outdoor dining options. Now that the Red Rooster has opened up on Lenox and 126th Street, a row of alfresco seating can be seen connecting the blocks between 125th and 127 Street.  With perfect weather for a Sunday weekend, Chez Lucienne, Red Rooster and Sylvia's were all completely packed. Sylvia's seem to have more than it could handle with a huge lines of tourists out front while the other two newcomers were pleasantly busy. This really shows the way groups of restaurants can transform a neighborhood just by having outdoor cafes lining the boulevard.

  1. What a gorgeous day! Lenox Ave was looking great and local businesses seemed to be doing very very well - this is a seriously busy corridor!

    Harlem is looking great!

  3. Upper Lenox restaurant row is really vibrant and all establishments have a considerable number of tables both inside and out, between them they attract a lot of clientele. Upper Lenox restaurant row is now quite the destination and makes for a great ambassador for Harlem visitors.

  4. Guys - I love the positive sentiments about our neighborhood, but until Chez Lucienne and Sylvia's fix their terrible food they are doing us all a disservice.. Endless tourists never coming back do not a good restaurant make.
