The Red Rooster at 310 Lenox and 126th Street applied for a cafe license about a month ago and today provided some proof that the alfresco arrangement might be happening by this weekend. Some action was had at the eatery and more photos after the jump.
All of the greenery showed up this afternoon and a foliage design truck could be seen unloading the potted shrubs at the front of the restaurant. Marcus Samuelsson also uploaded a message via Twitter that the 30-seat setup will be ready soon. So in the past month Bier, Nectar, the Harlem Tavern and Red Rooster have all pretty much set up their outdoor cafes. Newcomer Lido should have theirs set up by July.
Yes, we had lunch there today and when we left - all these wonderful planters were in place. Outdoor seating looks to be eminent. And we had a delicious lunch!
ReplyDeleteI had dinner there this past Sunday. Fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine the red umbrellas cheering up upper Lenox.
ReplyDeleteSomewhat unrelated, signs went up in the space next to chocolate on fdb for something called "honey burger". The whoooole giant space. Anyone know more?

Looks like the Red Rooster planters are made from reclaimed floor joists, like the shelving inside, nice creative design.
