☞ REMEMBER: The Lenox Trolley Barn c. 1938
The news that the old bus depot on Lenox between 146th and 147th Street will be converted into a modern structure had us wondering what the original 19th century trolley barn looked like. Some archival photos from the late 1930's shows the structure which spans the entire block of upper Lenox before it became a bus depot and altered a few years later. The area pretty much was low-rise and industrial at the time but today has a superblock of large towers. Photos via NYPL
