The 10th Annual Reel Harlem Film Festival starts this month at the new Richard Rodgers Amphitheater within Marcus Garvey Park by 122nd Street and Mount Morris Park West. Other parks participating in the next coming weeks will include St. Nicholas Park and Jackie Robinson Park for the free outdoor presentations.
Wednesday, July 6th, 8:30 PM, Jamel Shabazz: Street Photographer at Marcus Garvey Park. This 2011 film documents the work of Jamel Shabazz who captured the early days of Hip-Hop through photographs.
Thursday, July 7th, 8:30 PM, Calypso Dreams at Marcus Garvey Park. An intimate portrait of some of the true Calypsonians in Trinidad and Tobago, in performance and in conversation over a three time period.
