☞ EAT: Tonnie's Minis Pioneers the Mini

When Tonnie's Minis opened up at 264 Lenox Avenue in fall of 2009, the cupcake purveyor was also one one of the first bakeries to start up the miniature cupcake craze.  A recent Crain's article highlights the business at 124th Street as one of the many shops that offers the diet friendly size option that gives folks just a hit of what they are looking for without adding the extra inches to the waistline. This past year, big chains such as Starbucks have taken noticed and duplicated the mini cupcake trend at their own counters. The story also mentions some folks feel that eating five minis are better than just one large cupcake but we would recommend checking that calorie count first before consuming such quantities.
