New York magazine's fashion blog previewed the Missoni collection for Target yesterday and the breadth of it has our heads spinning. Most collaborations in the past dabbled in a few sportswear separates with an accessory or two but this one has something for everyone. Since the East Harlem location on 116th Street is the major Target shop for Manhattan, maybe some of the more exclusive items will be coming uptown next month. Designer Missoni Bicycle anyone?
Missoni is the venerable Italian fashion house known for their graphic knits and prints. Most fashionistas recognize the signature zig-zag pattern knitted into many of sweaters which often combine muted and bright accent colors. Looking through the entire collection, there appears to one mens sweater, a tie collection, knitted baby jumpers, a girls collection, womens sport separates, a bathing suit, printed luggage, a laptop cover, handbags home furnishings and even dinnerware. We are not sure on how the fit will be for the sportswear pieces since Target is mass market but the accessories should be a sure bet to brighten any early fall ensemble.
