☞ READ: Classical Theatre of Harlem in the Times

The Classical Theatre of Harlem will be making their big debut this season with a free performance of Shakespeare's Henry V tomorrow at Marcus Garvey Park and the New York Times had a major feature on the company today. This Friday and Saturday's highly anticipated preview at the new Richard Rodgers Amphitheater will be the first major presentation in 2 years and will formerly run through September 4th at the Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial & Educational Center.  King Henry will be played by  Obie-award winning actor Ty Jones (above photo from previous Macbeth production) who also happens to be the board chairman and has great hopes for the new season.  With increases wealth and interest in Harlem, the article intimates that the time might just be right for the arts to flourish in a big way uptown after all these years: LINK.  Check out the details for this weekend's upcoming performance in our past post: LINK.  Photo by Ruth Sovronsky via Classical Theatre of Harlem Facebook
