☞ REVIVE: The 139 West 123rd Street Reno

It has been a couple of months since we checked out the renovation at 139 West 123rd Street and the lower current photo shows that things are looking a little more stable these days.  The entire building is going through a full extreme gut renovation but the removed cornice exposed some very unstable looking brickwork underneath.  More recently mesh along with wood beams have been placed up top to hold everything together and plywood has been set up out front.  Based on the current state of the townhouse located just east of Lenox, one can now assume that the facade will remain since additional scaffolding has not been placed up which is the usual process in the case of a full building demolition.  It will be interesting to see if the cornice will eventually be restored or not on this one.
