☞ SHOP: Old Louise's Signs Replaced
Louise's at 217 Lenox Avenue by West 121st Street was one of the last really old southern diners left in Harlem and some activity was seen on the site in the past month. Reports that a deli was arriving have now all been confirmed since the awning arrived this weekend. Another "gourmet" establishment has arrived but we would have rather them just called it Louise's Deli and kept the cool old school corner light signs. As many have pointed out, the "gourmet" monicker usually just means the establishment is pretty mediocre at best.

I’m tellin’ you, said she with zero experience in the food industry, that corner would have been perfect for a nice diner or affordable restaurant. It’s got churches all around, Owen’s Funeral Parlour, office and shop workers up and down 125 and sit-down places are pretty much restricted to Applebee’s.
ReplyDeleteWell maybe it will be ok. It is, after all, a GOURMET deli.
the awning now reveals they proudly sell Lotto and have an ATM
ReplyDeleteThe good news is they carry $10 bills.
ReplyDeleteJust what we needed another "Gour-met" deli!!!
