A photo from 1895 shows the main mode of transportation in the 19th century and a rare glimpse of what could be the old Claremont Inn in the background. This photo was taken at Riverside Drive around 122nd Street by Grant's Tomb and that would make it in proximity of now long gone historic inn. This view would be peering west towards the Hudson and Riverside Park today pretty much still looks as pastoral since it is one of the main green spaces of the city.
