☞ BESPOKE: Uptown's Deco Florist Shop
There are not many Art Deco type storefronts intact these days uptown but one can find a charming example of the streamline style just a bit north of Harlem's borders at 158th Street. This corner is just off of Broadway and the storefront always stands out amongst the more moderate looking modern signage found in the immediate area. Most of the floral offerings at the shop appear to be pretty basic but the storefront is probably the only other deco one standing other than the Lenox Lounge down on 124th Street.

That florist has been there forever! I mean forever! It goes beyond the days when Freddie Prinz lived across the street and as a young man worked at Hornstein's Stationery store, also across Broadway.
