Clothing Recycling at La Marqueta, 115th Street and Park Avenue. This Saturday Grow NYC, Go Green and Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer will co-sponsor a textiles and clothing recycling event at La Marqueta in East Harlem from Noon to 5:00pm. The goal of this event is to remove textiles from the waste stream and recycle them into new materials. This is a great opportunity for Harlem residents to do something good for the environment and the overall goal is to collect over 3 tons of textiles. There will also be a free energy efficient light bulb giveaway at the event.
