☞ REVIVE: What's Up with 411 Lenox?
That old Public Fish Market Building in Central Harlem has been vacant for several years now but there appears to be some sort of activity happening on the site just south of 131st Street in recent days. Folks who remember the business recalls an older Italian fishmonger who used to run the shop for years but has since left this section of Lenox Avenue and the building has been vacant ever since.
The lower photo shows a plywood fence that has been placed out front at this point in time and a couple of permits have now been posted. It now appears that there will be demolition of the some interior walls on the first floor only but there is not much happening with the 2 dwelling units above the storefront that have not had windows in place for quite some time. This space was up for rent previously so maybe the owners are trying to make look more presentable?
