☞ SEE: The New York Marathon Through Harlem

Another year of perfect weather and live jazz welcomed joggers at  the 2011 New York City Marathon this past Sunday and the crowds were out to greet the international cast of runners.  This latter part of the race is one one milestones for runners trying to complete the epic run through the city and folks from the community alongside visiting friends and family members lined Mount Morris Park West to cheer on the athletes.  More photos after the jump.

This year's event had the usual mix of European countries on hand with French and Italian runners being the most noticeable.  Central and South American countries were represented alongside the usual marathon antics which included celebrities, a wedding between two runners and a few costumes. Geoffrey Mutai from Kenya won the race on the men's side and  Firehiwot Dado of Ethiopia captured the women's title for 2011.
