☞ REMEMBER: The Washington Theatre Stage

An interior photo of the former Washington Theatre in Hamilton Heights shows a patriotic take for the interior of the venue circa 1911. Most notable is the reproduction of Emmanuel Leutze's Washington Crossing the Deleware at the front of the theater which appears to be a scrim set up for the stage draped with curtains patterned in patriotic stripes.  The theater at 149th Street and Amsterdam had been used as a church for some time in recent years so it is unclear if any of the murals still exists today.
