☞ REMEMBER: 134th and Fifth circa 1939

A photo from 1939 shows a block that no longer exists in Harlem but another fascinating point of interest can be found in the street traffic.  Even though automobiles would have been quite common in those days, horse drawn carriages were still apparently in use. All of the carriages are gone today and those building in the background were torn down to make way for Urban Renewal type housing a couple of decades later.
