☞ EAT: El Kallejon Opens in East Harlem
The owners of the highly reviewed Agua Fresca on East 117th Street has opened a charming tapas eatery next door at 209 East 117th Street. We walked by the new space located between 3rd and 2nd Avenue this past weekend and was impressed with the interior's downtown aesthetics and overall warmth. A manager explained that beer and wine is now being served but they are waiting for the liquor license before rolling out a full cocktail menu. There is also a back patio under construction and this will be ready within the next couple of weeks when the warm spring weather arrives. I had dinner at Lgua Fresca with a friend just the other night - she read about them recently in the Times. Nice decor, varied menu, delicious food and a 'specialty drink' each night. What a nice addition to the neighborhood. Glad to hear they've opened a tapas eatery next door for lighter fare.
