Produced, directed and written by the team behind the Emmy-Award-winning documentary Freedom Riders (Laurens Grant and Stanley Nelson) bring you the story of the most famous athlete of his time, whose stunning triumph at the 1936 Olympic Games captivated the world. Join us for the story of the 22-year-old son of a sharecropper who triumph over adversity to become a hero and a world champion. The film will premiere on the PBS series American Experience Tuesday, May 1 at 8:00pm.
