☞ EAT: Tapas Bar for old Fonda Boricua Space

La Fonda Boricua at 169 East 106th Street was the Puerto Rican eatery of the neighborhood for over 16 years and now the shuttered shop will open again as a tapas restaurant. According to a recent Daily News article, one of the co-owners of the former Fonda Boricua has transformed the old space into a new Spanish eatery with a new look. Classic striped awnings and lettering aligned with a wood storefront gives a downtown look to the newly reborn space. East Harlem has been changing in the past years and it appears now that the long standing businesses are making changes to adjust to the various taste levels of newcomers.  Read more in the Daily News: LINK

  1. Tapas? Sheesh, let's be more original. How about a really good Puerto Rican restaurant famous for it's arroz con pollo?
