☞ ARCHITECTURE: The Marine Transfer Station

The American Institute of Architects unveiled the winning designs for the proposed transformation of the Marine Transfer Station on West 135th Street.  What is now an abandoned, floating garbage depot on the Hudson could one day become a ferry hub and and an eco-friendly farm that would attract locals back to Harlem's waterfront on the west side.  Four prizes were given out from 98 entries which tackle the challenge of creating a cultural destination point for the neighborhood. The above rendering called Harlem Harvest was realized by 3rd place winners Ryan Doyle, Guido Elgueta, and Tyler Caine from  Brooklyn. Check out all of the other finalist renderings on the Enya Competitions site: LINK.  Read more details in the Daily News: LINK
