☞ REMEMBER: Sylvia Woods
Harlem's own Sylvia Woods who founded her famous namesake restaurant 50 years ago passed away last night . Back in 1962, a little known waitress from South Carolina borrowed money from her mother to buy out the luncheonette that she worked at on 126th Street and Lenox. Decades later, Mrs. Woods would become a national champion of soul food and an international ambassador of Harlem. Sylvia Woods was 86 years old and will be greatly missed by all of us uptown and the world. Read more in the Daily News: LINK
