☞ ARCHITECTURE: 306-308 West 116th Street
The new 14-unit condo development has been rising at 306-308 West 116th Street and now the facade color has been revealed. This development just west of FDB/8th Avenue started up over a year ago and has mostly looked like a concrete slab until the past few weeks. We always appreciate a bit of color as a design element but orange is somewhat of an interesting choice for a building in general. Everything should be completed by Spring 2013 according to the information posted outside on the sidewalk shed and it looks like that everything is going along according to schedule for this South Harlem development.

Would have thought they'd have a website up by now
ReplyDeleteI think the orange color looks fresh, modern and playfully referential to the classic brick and brownstone buildings of Harlem. Love it.
ReplyDeleteAgreed valgb. Very modern looking, yet classy at the same time. Will be interesting to see what price per sq. ft these are listed at. I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the $700-800 per sq. ft. range.
ReplyDeleteI heard it through the grapevine, that this building has signed cotracts on all the units and never will hit the open market. I am just wondering if this is true
