☞ REMEMBER: Koch's Dry Goods circa 1900

An photo taken of 125th Street shows the old Koch Dry Good Store as it originally stood on the south side of the boulevard.  The adjacent building to the immediate right no longer exists but the one to the far right currently houses the Studio Museum in Harlem.  At the left, one can see the original mansard roof houses that used to stand in this area which have been replaced by low level commercial buildings in more recent decades.  The Koch building itself still looks like it did a century ago but the lower retail spaces have been replaced by contemporary storefront facades.

  1. A magnificent building, often a buildings dramatic details are on the lower eye level. Not the case here, as you look higher up it just gets more elaborate. I am glad it has survived all this time.
