A Bespoke reader sent in a tip which revealed that a new restaurant (owned by the same individual as Acqua, Bettolona) at 139th and Amsterdam called Coccola will open in the near future. The eatery is almost ready and apparently there is a wood-burning pizza oven within the interior. Tables and furnishing seem to be in place so this one should debut in West Harlem soon. City College is right across from Coccola so this might be an advantage to the new business. Check out Bettolona in our past post: LINK
SUCH GREAT NEWS! Especially with the increase in tourism in the area due to the Hamilton Grange, this would be a perfect place to grab a bite while touring St. Nick Park, City College and The Grange. Hope they serve beer on tap too!
ReplyDeleteGotta admit, historically speaking, Amsterdam has usually been a very bad gamble for businesses, especially retail. Food establishments do fair a bit better but not by much. However, it's proximity to City College, nearby tourism, and St Nick park may be just ticket. I'm excited actually. I hope it does really well. I hope they offer pizza delivery service as well as sit down service.
