A Bespoke reader mentioned that a new bike shop as opened just west of Amsterdam on 139th Street. We walked by this section of Hamilton Heights recently and took a photo of Talent Cycles which is just around the corner from the new
Coccola restaurant and across the street from City College. A restaurant called
The Grange will also be opening up in the area soon so expect this section of Amsterdam Avenue to be the next commercial hub to develop on the west side of Harlem.
Great to have another bike shop in the hood! Just want to make a plug for Junior Bicycle Shop at 150th and Amsterdam — he's been there for years and always does a great, and cheap job.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear about this shop (and Juniors) in the neighborhood! Previously, I was only aware of Mod Cycle. Spring is a perfect time for a tune-up...:)
ReplyDeleteThis should strike a bit of a nostalgic note for those who have lived in the neighborhood for through the 90's.There used to be a bike shop on the corner of 140th and Amsterdam where Cafe One stands now.Many of my generation got our first bikes there and used to go repeatedly for repairs.
