☞ SEE: Grey Gardens Staunch Celebration 2013
Friday-Sunday, June 7th-9th, 7:30PM, The Fifth Annual Grey Gardens Staunch Celebration at Maysles Cinema, 343 Lenox Avenue at 127th Street. The documentary Grey Gardens shocked New York City back in the 1970s since it candidly revealed the lives of Jackie Onassis' eccentric, former socialite cousins who lived in squalor on and decrepit Hamptons estate of the same name. Grey Gardens' director Albert Maysles now calls Harlem home and also has an indie theater that shows the ground breaking film once a year.
Grey Gardens has become a cult classic so folks uptown should check the film out this weekend to learn more about the iconic documentary. Those who know of the first film should also note that The Beals of Grey Gardens will also be shown which is the sequel to Grey Gardens.
