We walked by the factory district just east of Amsterdam by 127th Street and noticed that new murals were up in preparation for this weekend's Harlem art tours. Most of the industrial buildings are still intact east of Broadway to Amsterdam in this section of Manhattanville but the rest on the far west side has been demolished to make way for the new Columbia campus.
With all that said, there is still some old school charm to the area and the art studios in the location makes it feel more like the Meat Packing District before gentrification took over. Check out more details for the weekend's art events in our past post: LINK
