Doug E's Chicken & Waffles finally opened on the corner or ACP/7th Avenue and 132nd Street back in 2010 but the shop apparently has been closed for most of 2013. Back in January of this year, the famous hip hop proprietor mentioned to the media that he was opening another restaurant and all seemed like it was going well. We have not seen any activity with that said new venture and the smaller shop does not appear to be open during the daytime when we have walked by in past weeks. Does anyone know what's going on with Doug E's?
It took him 3 years to open the first time, so what's the rush.
ReplyDeleteI went in there just prior to it "closing for renovations" and my thing is anytime you have to ask what the different items on the steam table are because you don't recognize anything then maybe you shouldn't be in the restaurant business. In addition, the service was poor. So this really won't be missed if its gone for good.
