☞ QUESTION: What's Up with Whole Foods?
Now that the end of 2013 is at hand, it appears that the planned Whole Foods building on Lenox and 125th Street will probably break ground in 2014. Earlier on in the year, one local newspaper reported that that construction would happen around May but zoning approval for DOB permits did not get the green light until this September. We asked Whole Foods NYC on Twitter what was the status and they mentioned it was still some time away until the Harlem debut. All opening deadlines in the past have been confirmed as somewhere in 2015 but this might happen later in that year if delays keep happening at this rate.

I was kind of hoping that the delay was due to rethinking the plan NOT to have a hotel on top of all of that retail.. What a missed opportunity being right next to the express train!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait til it opens -- that's one of my favorite places to get fresh, organic produce. Going downtown to shop can be a real hassle on the return trip to Harlem. LoL!
ReplyDeleteI would rather see Trader Joe's uptown!
