☞ REMEMBER: When Harlem Saved a King
The documentary When Harlem Saved a King focuses on the events of September 1958 When Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. nearly died at a book signing event at Blumstein's department store on 125th Street. A deranged woman stabs the civil rights leader in the chest and would have killed Dr. King if it were not for the quick thinking of two local police officers and the doctors at Harlem Hospital. Check out the video for the full trailer which has quite a few photos of Martin Luther King in Harlem and details the history even further.
