Thursday March 13th, 7:30PM, The Harlem Arts Festival Gala 2014 at MIST Harlem, 46 West 116th Street, between 5th Avenue and Lenox. Since its successful Kickstarter campaign back in 2012, the Harlem Arts Festival has been organizing great summer outdoor cultural events in the summer made free to the public. Those who want to support this great local nonprofit should check out the HAF Gala 2014 to help with this year's festival. The Gala is the main fundraising event for HAF and will feature an open bar cocktail reception with hors d'oeuvres. There will also be a silent auction with original artwork by Andre Woolery and Lynn Lieberman.
HAF will additionally be presenting Community Impact Awards to two individuals, Linda Walton of Harlem Arts Alliance and composer/musician/social activist, Fred Ho. Later in the evening, there will be live performances by three incredible local artists including world renowned clarinettist and composer, Kinan Azmeh; Zest Collective, made up of dancers and choreographers from the Ailey company; and rising star jazz vocalist, Chris Turner.
