ARCHITECTURE: GLASS AT MANHATTANVILLE CAMPUS
It has been quite some time since the work started on the new $6.8 billion Columbia University Campus over in Manhattanville but things are now starting to pick up. We took a photo from the elevated train station at 125th Street on Broadway this past weekend and noticed that the glass windows were finally going up on the science building that notable architect Renzo Piano designed for the Ivy League school. There had been major ground work over the past couple of years and this first building took another year to top off afterwards. At the rates things are going now, this first building will appear to be ready by next year's estimated finish date of 2015. This current building looks pretty straightforward but the next two to rise just a block west will be more dramatic: LINK
