DWELL: A RECORD SALE ON CONVENT AVENUE
Number 420 Convent Avenue is a good example of how original details work well with a higher-end townhouse buyer. Although in the historic district, this location at 149th Street is not quite on the notable Convent strip below 145th Street which has even more spectacular residences. An asking price of $3.5 million was on the ambitious side but the final sale in April at $2.825 million makes it one of the highest for 2014 and also sets the record for all of the homes on the Convent Avenue historic district of Sugar Hill. If this building had a lesser restoration and was missing the woodwork, we would gather that even trying for $2 million would have been a stretch. More photos on Trulia: LINK
