REMEMBER: A COMPLETED ST. JOHN THE DIVINE

A postcard from 1903 shows what the original plan for the Cathedral of St. John the Divine looked like up on Amsterdam and 110th Street when the powers that be first envisioned the massive house of worship at the top of Morninside Park.  What is noticeably not complete today is the gigantic center section of the building with the spire towards the back and also the twin towers towards the front.  This ambitious church still breaks some world records for size but ultimately the finances were lacking to complete the original vision and St. John the Divine still remains unfinished today.
