DRINK: AT THE WALLACE SET TO OPEN IN JULY
At the Wallace by Harlem Public at Broadway and 149th Street is really closing in on an opening date in the next few weeks. We walked by this past weekend and took a peek inside the rather large bar and expect this new establishment to be an instant success since the owners of Harlem Public are all involved. Based on word of mouth, we hear that Harlem Public in the future will basically be more of restaurant focusing on food instead of being a pub and At the Wallace will be the much larger watering hole. Out of all the areas of Greater Harlem, Hamilton Heights appears to be debuting more new notable openings in the coming months. Two other bars and a new coffee shop should all be debuting soon by September.

I've been waiting for this place to open, but when I heard it would feature a 'Beer Pong' area, my heart sank. I'm pretty sure I won't wanna hang out in a bar with college students passed out in their own vomit after a Beer Pong Slamfest...
ReplyDeleteHey now, beer pong can be done responsibly. Was just at 39th bday party where we had a Ball playing table top shuffleboard. Beer pong cd be great ice breaker as you build your team & kick butt :)
ReplyDeleteCan you tell us more about these "two other bars and a coffee shop?" Have you covered those yet? I assume Hog's Head is one of them but very curious about the other two!
ReplyDeleteHog's Head Tavern, Grill On The Hill and The Edge coffee shop. All have been covered extensively in 2014.
ReplyDeleteBeer pong - disappointing.
ReplyDeleteAll the new places are bar and grill places...that's nice and happy for the new places to open, but would be great if we could start getting more variety of cuisines now (Indian, Thai, Turkish, etc.)
