INTRODUCING: KEHINDE WILEY AT GINNY'S

Wednesday, October 8th, 7:00 PM, Dinner with Kehinde Wiley, Ginny's Supper Club at the Red Rooster, in lower level of 310 Lenox Avenue.  Kehinde Wiley has become the most important African-American artists since Basquiat and Marcus Samuelsson will have an intimate, interactive discussion during a dinner for the painter and guests next month.

Kehinde Wiley is known for his vibrant, naturalistic, and larger-than-life portraits of men and women in heroic, classical poses. Initially, Wiley's portraits were based on photographs taken of young men found on the streets of Harlem.  On a recent trip to Africa, Kehinde worked on his newest collection, with themes referencing the food of the African diaspora. During the evening, chef/owner Marcus Samuelsson will serve a nine course dinner menu to celebrate Kehinde's bright, vibrant works and the places he visits for his many collections- Haiti, Mumbai, Rio de Janiero, and more. Dishes will include options like Jerk Duck Breast with Thai Basil; and Suckling Pig with Sweet and Sour Plum Jam. Tickets are $125 and can be purchased at www.ginnyssupperclub.com or by calling 212.421.3821.
