REVIVE: BALLOONS AT EAST 130TH STREET
A few Bespoke readers have sent in photos of the mysterious giant red balloon installation on an abandoned lot at 57 East 130th Street. Apparently this has been done for the sake of public art and definitely helps dress up this somewhat sad corner but there is more to the story. This location was listed for $1 million at one point in time and apparently plans for a 6-story condo building have all been laid out. According to the broker site, it all sold recently this lot just east of Madison will be empty no longer in the near future: LINK

Cool. I like it. Some whimsy and different from usual public art.
ReplyDeleteThat might explain the random red balloon I saw floating near Marcus Garvey Park yesterda.
