QUESTION: WHAT'S GOING ON WITH LENOX LOUNGE

We walked the old Lenox Lounge space just south of 125th Street this week and everything is still pretty much the same.  Notable restauranteur Richard Notar took over the lease of the famous location back in early 2013 but the disgruntled previous lessee tore down the famous storefront.  What was left of the interior was gutted over the summer and it appears that more permits were filed back in July to add a new structure at the rear of the building, HVAC and pouring a new concrete floor.  Everything is pending for review now so that explains the inactivity on site.  This will actually be a new club since the original details were destroyed but that name has not been revealed yet.  The aforementioned former lessee plans to reopen another version of Lenox Lounge on 127th but those plans seems to not have attracted the required backers: LINK
