REVIVE: NEW BUILDING AT 362 WEST 127TH STREET
The city finally figured a way to get rid of all those empty lots that negligent owners have left abandoned for decades. Increasing taxes to reflect market rates in the past year has had many of them sold off very quickly as is with the cast of 362 West 127th Street by St. Nicholas Avenue. This empty parcel sold just a few months ago and now permits are up with a rendering of the new 6-story building to be built on site. We get that the missing, distinct architecture would cost a small developer too much to remotely replicate but one could at least pick a brick color in warmer tones to compliment what is existing (and this building does not even have a basic, more solid base at the ground floor). A good example of how this can be done can be found in the more ambitious modern construction on 126th Street that at least matches tonally with the block: LINK
