Mod Squad cycle shop will apparently be shuttering by the end of the month. This boutique bike shop by 115th Street was one of the first better business to arrive on the lower FDB/8th Avenue retail corridor but the success of the immediate blocks might have eventually raised rents up. We are not actually sure if this is a lease renewal issue or just slow business which could also be the case. Larry's Freewheeling opened on 110th Street a couple of years back and might have split up the customer base in South Harlem: LINK
It is apparently closing because the owner and family are moving to Luxembourg for professional interests. Its been a great shop in the neighborhood and wish them all the best.
