DWELL: RECORD CONTRACT AT 17 WEST 120TH STREET

UPDATE: Based on Streeteasy, the house is apparently back on the market.  Earlier in the week, the listing was noted as being in contract.

A record contract has just been signed for 17 West 120th Street in the Mount Morris Park Historic District which could be the highest closing in Harlem since 2013.  At an initial asking of $3.75 million, this 3-family home is a standout because it is on one of the most gorgeous, historic blocks in the entire city.  Poet Maya Angelou had a home on this street and Marcus Samuelsson is also a notable neighbor.  The property will be sold vacant and apparently has quite a bit of original details but we have not seen any images posted at this point in time.  As mentioned previously this week, the current closing residential record holder belongs to one of Harlem's most famous celebrity residents: LINK

  1. I hope an opera singer rents the top floor apartment, the columned balcony would be perfect for practicing arias.
