REMEMBER: STREETCARS & BILLBOARDS CIRCA 1918

Who can guess the location of this Harlem retail corner taken circa 1918.  The streetcar zipping through the thoroughfare is one clue and the buildings shown in the research photo still exists today.  Then there is the slight bit of signage in view that will give the discerning eye all they need to figure this mystery out.  An updated photo of the current corner will be posted later in the day.

ANSWER: 7the Avenue looking north towards the corner of 125th Street.  Hotel Theresa is at the forefront.  Intact corners like this on Harlem's main street are slowly disappearing and it is refreshing to see some of the history still there in this example.

  4. Observant viewer, the photo offers a clue in the corner of the building sign, "...ERESA." It's the corner of the Hotel Theresa, at 125th Street and 7th Avenue. As for the building behind the streetcar, it still exists today and is home to Sprint, FedEx, atmos & Starbucks!
