The record Harlem townhouse sales of the year basically are homes that have closed around the $3 million mark. Actor Neil Patrick Harris purchased a $3.6 million home last year but sales in 2014 have not yet bested that number. Below are some of the notable closings on record as the year end approaches:
Mount Morris Park: Number 335 Lenox Avenue by 121st Street in the coveted historic district is the record of the year at $3.35 million even though the 26-foot townhouse is still not fully finished: LINK
East Harlem: The east side of Fifth Avenue is technically east Harlem but Number 2069 Fifth Avenue reached a record closing this year at $3.33 million. This home is just north of the Harlem record sale from 2013 so must have appreciated based on proximity since the interior does not really have outstanding details within or looks particularly new: LINK
Hamilton Heights: Number 50 Hamilton Terrace set a record sale in the notable historic district of Harlem's upper west side at $3.2 million. The landmark home by 143rd Street had been recently renovated in a contextual manner with higher end finishes: LINK
Another notable sale in the Hamilton Heights closed at 461 West 143rd Street at $3.1 million which apparently has a majority of original details intact: LINK
