REVIVE: CONTEXTUAL AT 145 WEST 118TH STREET
The block association at West 118th Street was apoplectic this past summer when the designs for 145 West 118th Street had been posted on the shell just east of 7th Avenue. It appeared that the developer had intended to tear down the distinct facade that matched the adjacent townhouses in order to have a bland skinny tower put in place. A Bespoke tip came in which mentioned that the scaffolding out front has just recently been removed and apparently a more contextual makeover has been revealed. Another level did arrive on the century-old building but everything now blends in with the original. We still miss the little triangle pediment piece but definitely like this makeover better than was originally planned: LINK
