ARCHITECTURE: STONE FACADE AT 200 EDGECOMBE
We had hopes that one of the last remaining wood frame houses in Harlem would be restored on Edgecombe to its original glory but the new developer had other designs. Walking by this block just south of 145th Street, one will notice that the new stucco added to the facade has now been tinted colors to emulate a brownstone townhouse. The cornice at top is also made of the same faux stonework and not the traditional cast metal. It actually does not look that egregious but renovated frame houses are more unique and charming in our humble opinion: LINK
